SUZANNAH BOZZONE, MD

For years, I was prescribing medicine I wouldn’t take myself and frustrated by the seemingly incurable state of our most prevalent, deadly and costly chronic diseases. Finally, I found Lifestyle Medicine, which is not only strongly evidence-based, but resonates with my desire to treat myself, my family and my patients more in accordance with nature’s guidance and, most importantly, addressing diseases from their root causes, rather than covering up symptoms. Best of all, this method empowers patients, rather than dictating dependence on our pharmaceutically-driven medical system.

Raised in Chattanooga, Dr. Bozzone has returned to the area to be near her family. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Davidson College, and completed medical school at University of Tennessee, followed by residency at the University of Colorado. She was Chief resident, awarded the Family Medicine Resident Award for Scholarship and recognized for her “infectious enthusiasm.” She pours this enthusiasm into her work with individuals, groups, workplaces, and communities to inspire and empower healthy and purpose-driven living. She has been deemed “a simply superb” and dynamic presenter for companies such as Porsche, AWG, Epiq, Kenco, and helped create a Cigna recognized employee wellness program at TNAA.

Dr. Bozzone has worked extensively in the Latino and refugee populations, both abroad and in the US, and speaks Spanish. She completed training as a yoga teacher in 2009 and in 2017, became a diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. The latter certification signifies specialized knowledge and reflects her passion for a lifestyle approach to medicine, focusing on diet, exercise, sleep, emotional health and stress management to achieve optimal health.

Dr. Bozzone moved to the Chattanooga area from Sonoma, CA, where she worked for six years in private practice and community health. She previously served as the Medical Director of Wellness at Sonoma Valley Hospital. Dr. Bozzone is happily married with three young children and loves to swim, practice yoga and sing in any spare moment she can find.
